My Top 10 Pet Peeves At (Major) Shows (in no particular order)
**Not targeted at anyone in particular, just people in general.**
It was brought to my attention that I failed to specify what the last one was for, and it was about local shows. So here is mine for major shows.
1. When people try to have lengthy conversations with or around me while a band is playing.
2. When it takes like an hour for the headliner to come out onto stage.
3. Screeching girls screaming things like "PETE I WANNA HAVE YOUR BABIES" or "PATRICK I LOVE YOU" or whatever else it maybe. Half the time these girls are half the age of the guys in the band and thats just gross.
4. Young kids who think they know what moshing is but end up just hurtling someone or being super annoying. Also kids who mosh in the wrong circumstances, like during a band like Hellogoodbye or something where moshing just doesn't go with the genre.
5. People who get pissed that there are people pushing and shoving. If you don't like it DON'T go to a GA show or buy tickets for the pit, It's a concert, it's gunna happen.
6. Sound crews that take 3 hours to get the sound check done.
7. People who bitch about how expensive some shows are. I've done it, everyone has done it. Now I'm not saying its justifiable to pay $75 for a band like Brand New or Taking Back Sunday, but $25 isn't bad considering the fact that the majority of their fans prolly don't actually buy the bands CD's but instead illegally download it. Touring is one of the few ways bands make money these days, support them so they can continue making music for your little ears to hear and hearts to go thump thump for.
8. When unnecessary lights are shinning in the crowds eyes. I know sometimes it's so the band or the videographer/photographer can see the crowd or whatever, but it doesn't need to be done every 5 seconds and the other lights don't need to be just as blinding. Sometimes I think I go home more blind than deaf.
9. When overweight people crowd surf. I'm being generous on this one cause crowd surfing is just annoying to begin with but I know it's gunna happen. However, people are gunna drop you, especially if they can't hold you up. And I don't mean this, I would never crowd surf for this reason (among others like getting groped) oh and I hate when girls crowd surf in mini skirts and when anyone crowd surfs in flip flops. Why would you go to a show and stands in a crowd wearing flip flops in the first place?!?!?!
10. When bands talk more than they play music.
If I'm forgetting anything (which I'm sure I am) please let me know.

Top 10 Pet Peeves At Shows
My Top 10 Pet Peeves At Shows (in no particular order)
**Not targeted at anyone in particular, just people in general.**
1. when friends don't support their friends' bands (that are good) by going to their shows but instead they support the bands that aren't good by going to their shows, and the friends who are just putting on shows...why can't they support all their friends?
2. when people leave after their friends' band plays.
3. when people go outside during bands they haven't heard of.
4. when people sneak in with out paying...it's usually $5..not a lot..it's $5 that you would obviously rather spend on getting drunk or high.
5. when people talk during acoustic bands (except at open mic nights).
6. when band members leave after they play- it's disrespectful, you should support the bands you're playing with even if you think they are bad.
7. when music industry majors like bands but are sick of going to shows...it doesn't make sense...get used to it..it's going to be your job one day. (and again it's 5 fucking dollars)
8. when sound guys (or girls) don't care about doing their job to the best of their ability. It shouldn't matter how big or small the show is or if you're getting paid or not. IT'S YOUR FUCKING JOB AS THE SOUND CREW!
9. when the sound crew doesn't tape down the chords...that's part of your job too.
10. when the unnecessary lights are shinning into the crowds eyes.
If I'm forgetting anything please let me know.

Balding Brit
So Britney Spears has officially lost her mind. Not just because she shaved her head, whatever floats your boat. It doesn't even look that bad. But the way she did it and the reasoning she gave is just proof that she is losing her damn mind. You should not be able to check yourself out of rehab, I know it's like unconstitutional to hold someone against their will when they haven't done anything illegal, but if you aren't stable you shouldn't be able to check yourself out, come on. The fact that she went into a salon and asked the woman to shave her head and when the woman wouldn't she fucking did it herself, forreal Brit?! Then she tells the hair lady and the tattoo dude that she just doesn't want people to touch her anymore?!!?! Like physically? cause maybe you should see someone about that. The weirdest thing to be was the pictures of her in the tattoo shop showed her with a shaved head and the Jewish star around her neck..really? cause I'm pretty sure you are DEFINATELY NOT Jewish, you're from the fucking bible belt. It totally creeped me out, not gunna lie. I'm interested to see what happens to that girl.
Speaking of crazy ass girls, how about Anna Nicole Smith litterally dropping DEAD. ANND they still don't know who the baby's daddy is for whatever reason. I'm sorry but it does not take 6 autopsies to find out why someone dropped dead. My theory is that they are just trying to cover up her suicide or her lawyer killing her. The endtertainment industry is seriously FUCKED UP! And I love it.
I love that these stories can beat out starving children and wars on the news. It's a sad sad world.

Funny Things
I like when little funny things happen that make me smile. For instance, I've subscriber to the Hanson podcast called Taking The Walk, which gives previews of their upcoming album as well as showing their docu-series Strong Enough To Break. I was pretty stoked when I found out about this cause the past few years I've been dying to see the documentary. But anyways I was watching the episode they put up today and it involves them having trouble getting ahold of their A&R guy at Island/DefJam to find out what he thinks about the things they had recorded so far. Everytime they called the A&R guy's assistant would answer and tell them he was busy doing something. But I recognized the assistant as having an Australian accent, and imediatly I thought about Ben's assistant Mike from over the summer and I was thinking how weird it would be if it was the same guy. And then the next thing I know Taylor says "Michael,...." and I got really happy and excited and was like I KNOW HIM!!! ahaha. It was really funny. Too bad him and Ben both lost their jobs, I wonder where they are now. I need to ask Ariel.
I have so much new music I want to listen to..some of which is litterally new and other stuff that is really really old but new to me. I'm taking this History of Rock class and it can be really fascinating sometimes. Although right now I am somewhat bored with it just because we are learning about Sun Records, and I have already learned about Sun Records several times when I took Record Labels in Pop Culture, so it's some what dry. But my professor posts mp3's of a lot of songs and i need to start listening to them.
On a non-music related note, we had to take our new kitten to a friends house for the night cause our stupid ass landord is doing unnecissary work in our apartment today and tomorrow morning. The things we are doing for this cat and we have only had her for a week. Poor thing.

Long Time No See
So I haven't updated this thing in MONTHS. I think I need to bring it back even though no one really reads it, which sucks but it's not like I can make people read it.
The new Fall out Boy album, Infinity On High, came out today. I admit I downloaed it 2 weeks ago but hey I already had it preordered so no one can be mad. It's quite possibly going to be the best CD I buy in 2007.
When I woke up this morning I decided to buy a pre sale ticket to the Honda Civic Tour at Darien Lake in May. I wasn't going to but I decided I need to hear the CD live, PLUS I haven't seen The Academy Is.. in like a lifetime and a half and I've been wanting to see Cobra Starship. I really don't care about Plus 44 and the fact that Paul Wall is on the tour is just mind boggling to me. But like my friend Marissa said there has got to be meaning to their madness for that one. I guess they are try to attract a wide range of people? I guess it worked for Bamboozle last year with method man so who knows.
Bamboozle is a whole other story. I can't decide if I want to go, and I definately don't think I can afford it but of course if I decide I want to go I'll prolly find a way to make it happen.
Money is the worst thing ever. I need a job here at school like no other. It's completely rediculous.
I mean I don't even drink often and I spend way too much mone on alcohol. The fact that Nikki turned 21 and gave me her old fake ID doesn't help, bars suck for making me spend too much money. So I'm going to stop going to the bars as much as possible. I mean I only really drink on the weekends, I don't know how alcoholics afford their habbitt.
Then we adopted a kitten so that's just another expense and we aren't even really allowed to have her, we're hiding her from our landlord.
AND I hope to go to Paris this summer. Hopefully I'm not dreaming about that.
Back to music.
Hanson has a new CD coming out titled, The Walk. I'm not even going to lie I'm pretty excited and they'll prolly tie with the new Fall Out Boy CD for best of 2007. I also plan on going to see them if they tour this summer...I'll go to as many shows as I can.
They have a podcast I subscribed to that gives previews of the album and "episodes" of their documentary, Strong Enough To Break," that's the main reason I watch it. I've been dying to see this documentary for a few years now, I think it will be pretty interesting because it's about how corupt the music industry is and all the struggles they went through with Island/DefJam.
I haven't been to any shows in a while, except ones on campus.
Last Friday I went to see Kiss Kiss and The Feverfew play with some bands from campus. And I have to say the Feverfew was rediculously amazing, that girl has the craziest voice, it was intense. Kiss Kiss was interesting, I really liked them but I was soooo sick I only stayed for the first 3 songs cause the show was running really really late. The only band from campus I liked was Astronauts. I think I love anything that is like piano rock, it makes me swoon.
I really wish I could be a rocker chick, like play piano in a dancey rock band or somehting. I think it would be soo fun..if only I had talent. hahaha, that's kinda important.
I'm taking the most interesting class this semester called Commerce and Consumerism in Music. Maybe I'll start writing about that class.
I think this post is long enough for today.

Standard of Living (http://www.myspace.com/standardofliving) is better than any band you're listening to right now. Not joke..they are as good live as they are recorded. You better check these bitches out before they blow up and you lose your chance to say "hey I listened to them before they were famous" if you don't believe me then you should know that they were asked by Billy Mann (http://www.billymann.com) and Teddy Geiger to open up for Teddy tonight at his home town show that he did for a live performance video. If they get Billy Mann behind them, they will be signed with in the year...I promise. They tore that stage up for sure. Girls who were complainging at the begining of the show that there was an opening act...one they had never heard of...we the same girls screaming and pushing me out of the way when I was trying to tlak to them about booking a show. Do yourself a favor and check that shit out before its too late!
In other news...I decided last weekend that Patrick Stumph should record an album (or atleast a few internet leaks) call "Patrick Stumph's Seductive Covers" (Youtube Patrick Stumph singing Let's Get It On). The Alum should include good recordings of, Lets Get It On, Let's Stay Together, and any other hot song byany of those sexy song singers. It'd be orgasm material people.

The Format is Better Than You
The Format has pretty much taken over my life. That and moving home and moving back to school. I have like 2 more days to do this shit and I'm going crazy. No time. Not to mention I am now workign for Ariel from home on the CyberPR program. So getting that going has been interesting.
So Sat. I went and saw The Format play. Now I could go on and on in detail song by song and waste a lot of time. But really it's something you just have to witness for yourself. If I tried to describe it I think it would come out as just a bunch of gibberish. They are amazing and beyond. One of the best shows I have ever been to. Everyone should listen to their new album, Dog Problems, nonstop like I do. It's an addiction.

How could I forget DIrty?!?!?!?!?! Dirty should be number 2 on the Scene-List Celebrities.

Boredum causes strange posts
Inspired by Kathy Griffin's My life on the D-list
Scene-list Celebrities:
1. Hey Chris- dude from the FOB song, livejournal hero, askhey chris, writer, role model?, xxx, hxc vet.
2. Jac Vanek- photographer of the scenerockstars, ex gf of Ryan Ross, scene queen, rock stars friend/tagalong, her myspace was recently hacked, that has to count for something.
3. Jack Marin- ex octoberfall member (dumbest thing they ever did), photgrapher, kick ass tour manager for panic! and more recently for hellogoodbye, myspace and livejournal lurk worthy, hes the shit.
4. Hey Kate, Hey Chris' exgf, she seems like an outstanding human being, he livejournal is cute and read worthy, she does great work with a childrens camp.
5. audrey "twigg" kitching, ex best friend of Jac Vanek, ex gf of Brendan Urie, Scene Queen to the extreme, tooth collector, Japan obsessed, hair dresser/fusion extensionist, model
6. EM-80, Girlfriend of Jack Marin, seems like a kick ass girl, her and jack own pretty much the cutest cat in the world vader the kitten..he could be a scene-list celebrity himself, he has a myspace.
I'm sure there are more..but this is all the lurking I can hanlde at the moment.
I have given in an I will be seeing Snakes on a Plane when I get home, it should be a good laugh witha great soundtrack. The marketing alone is enough reason to see it since it is genius, come on, prank phone calls to your friends from Samuel Jackson? it doesn't get much better than that.
Shows at the Apple Store in SoHo are really weird. But good. I saw The Working Title play there on Sat. and the sound was amazing, it was organized weird but I guess they prepare for chaos.
Until recently I was unaware that Archie Star was the Side Project of the lead singer of October Fall. I don't like them but I LOVE Archie Star...good shit.
Fuzy posters with a CD preorder is another AMAZING marketing idea, totally got mine, totally can't wait to color it.
The End.

What a freakin weak
This week has been pretty busy
Lance Bass is gay. SURPRISE SURPRISE! hahaha. This would be completely sad if I was still like 13. He was always my fav. but I guess it was only a matter of time before an ex-boyband member came out of the closet. Now we just need to wait on the other 4.
Thursday some how I managed to get me and Nikki intot he Brand New show, thanks very much to my boss, Ariel. She got us what we thought was just a simple buy in through the owner of Webster Hall. When we got there we were quite surprised when the guy handed us VIP passes. We were sooo thankful not just cause it was exciting but becaus watching the crowd from above was entertaining and we were extremely grateful that we weren't down there..we would have died. I was very surprised at the alck of security between the stage and the crowd. There were about 2 guys who looked like they had no clue what they were doing and kids were falling off of the crowd and like hitting the stage. Idiots. So we got to chill with Brand New's friends, family and Management. Met Jesse's sister and her friend, they were nice. Nikki Talked to Vinnie since she used to like across from him and Garrett. Men Women and Children were amazing, soo extertaining, soo fun, and SOoo NICE! and of course Brand New was amazing.
When we left Jay from Men Women and Children convinced us to buy a CD of course. He was standing outside with a box of them lol. Then we went to Blue 9, and the lead singer, I think his name is TJ? Came in and he kept looking at us weird. So when we were leaving Nikki saw him staring at us and was like good show..and he was like oh thanks! and we talked to him for a minute and left. We really want to go back and see them play with Head Automatica in like October.
After all this special treatment and shit at shows this summer has made it very nice, it's gunna be weird going to a regular show hahaa. Ariel tried to get me into Warped Tour, no luck. I don't think I'm going to go. I have like 5 days to decide and no one to go with. blah.
Friday my friend from home came to visit. She had never been here before so we spent all of Sat. Traveling up and down the city so she could see all the places I love. At night we of course went to Times Square cause it's just something you have to see at night during your lifetime. I freaked out of course cause people were driving me insane. We say the naked cowGIRL...yes GIRL...and took pictures..she was kinda gross. Then we watched this amazingly talented artist painting pictures with spray paint. I've never seen anything like it.
Then as we were walking back to the subway..we saw this really hot guy and we both imediatly in our minds thought..Shane West? No. Then he opened his mouth and said something to the girl he was with and Cara and I immediatly turned to eachother and we both said "Was that!?" It was. So that marked my first "celebrity" siting hahaha. Besides band members. I'm statisfied.
Oh and I almost forgot. I took cara to 34th to see the Empire State Building. and on our walk down Broadway, a block away from 34 we see this kid sitting with a cup and a sign. Normally I don't even look at these people but this kid was young and kinda cute so i read his sign while we walked passed and we both stopped because it said he was stranded from ROCHESTER. What?!? I felt bad and turned around na dput all the change I had...like $3 into his cup and told him we were from Rochester. All day he was all I could think about. I felt soooo bad for him and wished I had asked him what happened. I wanted to go back and bring him McDonalds or something. He looked like he hadn't slept in days. This was the only time I have EVER done something like that.
Oh and on Friday me and the people I work with stopped by the Milk Bar designed after the one from A Clockwork Orange. It was pretty cool but we didn't stay because it was SOOOOOO HOT and no air whatsoever. So we left and I got no pictures..kinda sad.
That was my week...

Danger:Radio The Scene Aesthetic
Last night I went and saw The Scene Aesthetic and Danger:Radio in NJ at the Bloomfield Ave Cafe.
Shittiest place I have ever been to.
The Show was HOT.
and when I say hot I don't just mean the bands played well or the guys were hot I mean it was literaly a sweaty ballsack:

Both bands played amazingly well. I don't know how that Andrew kid plays both sets one right after the other especially on nights like last night. I didn't talk to any of the guys cause of the sworms of girls. It's a good thing none of them are epilectics cause the second Andrew got on stage to set up for Danger:Radio those girls were shoving every camera they had in his face. damn. Someone needs to scoop Danger:Radio up and make them the next big thing. Seriously some talented fucking boys. I wish that putting them on the band write ups at Island could have done something, it sounded like ben and mike were somewhat interested. At least mike made it seem that way. Damnit. and The Scene Aesthetic was nothing short of perfect..minus the dripping sweat interfering with anything.
Seriously Bloomfield Ave would have to have some other good fucking bands for me to ever go back there. Fuck that shit and no re entry..who does that anymore? Lame.
This week the only show I have is Brand New..totally stoked.
I'll prolly update more later when im not starving.
peace.

What is the world coming to!?
1. Apparently there were some injuries at a Panic! at the Disco concert the other night. When I read the article I kinda laughed to myself...is that mean? But come on, anyone who goes to these kinds of shows should know that its going to be hot, its going to be packed, you're gunna get pushed, kicked, squeezed etc, and there are gunna be idiots throwing things. Where ever the show was must not have had very much going on that they had to cover injuries at a show. There are always ambulences and medics and girls passing out and people getting crushed. I've never been to a show where there hasn't been these things. And yeah it's shitty and should happen but what are you gunna do? people are stupid. that's the answer to most problems. I've been kicked in the head, squished, hot, sweaty, elbowed, pushed, moshed upon etc. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger right?
2. Fall Out Boy action figured?! forreal? get out. Make me puke. They remind me of when NSYNC put out action figures. However the saddest part is that they will most likely sell and young girls all over the world will have them in their bedrooms. I mean if they were limited edition or like one set only, they might be cooler. But supposedly Hot Topic is going to carry them, can't get much more lame than that.

3. Pete Wentz is now a model for Gap. hahahaha oh god. what is he gunna do!? First he takes pics with his clothes off now hes gunna make money putting them on?! I can only hope they make him dance in a commercial or something. Hey I'll admit it, of course he's mad hot, but that's still not gunna make me want to buy a plain white tshirt for $50, never have never will, I don't care if you put every hot guy and girl in your ads, it's not happening.

I need all of the new Hellogoodbye, Gym Class Heroes, and This Day and Age..NOW.
Tomorrow I FINALLY get to see The Scene Aesthetic and Danger::Radio.
I found a way to get into the Sold Out Brand New show next week, WHAT!??!
ps. I spent my Monday night with 9 amazing boys from 2 amazing bands and everyone should check them out and love them:

..New GCH and New TDAA are both AMAZING.
...Snakes on a Plane makes me laugh..but I sing it all day long.
..I still haven't decided how I feel about Boys Like Girls.
..I'm having a dilema over what shows to go to.
..I get to see Something Like Silence on Monday..which really means I get to see TJ!!..who I haven't seen since school was over...im stoked...it's gunna be soo rare..ahh
..I finally get to see The Scene Aesthetic and Danger::Radio on Friday...freaking out.
..And I love Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" as should everyone..and I still want it to be my wedding song...If only I could meet a boy who loves that song as much as I do.
I'm dissappointed that I haven't really met anyone in NYC.
peace out.

My Internet is Back!!!! WOOT!!!
I begin with a few quotes.
My love Marissa IM'ed me on my SK last night with something that I could not say any better:
"Ok. So I secretly stil want Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, Brad Pitt and Jen Aniston to get back together, and I really want Hey Chris and Hey Kate to get back together"
So true.
A conversation between Cait and I at CBGB's the other night:
ME: Ugh I really have to pee. This sucks.
CAIT: Ya know how they have tantric sex? They should make that for peeing!
WHAT!?!!?! are you forreal!? hahahahha
Speaking of CBGB's it was posted on absolutepunk.net the other day that they will be moving it to Cali. Time Out. Sorry. You can't just remake something that historical in another place and call it moving. Sorry not aloud. It's not the same. Fuck this shit. Where are the billionaires that whipe their asses with their money when ya need them? Bill Gates should donate the money or something. damn.
Apparently Weezer has broken up. Maybe temporarily? Hopefully forever. I can't stand that shit anymore.
Panic! At The Disco has stated that they don't want people drooling over their looks. I fucking agree. Apparently they don't like the things girls are screaming out at shows. It's about the goddamn music people. I totally agree with them but I don't think there is anything anyone can do about it..unless they get plastic surgery to be ugly. Those girls buy the records that just made you platinum though. When I went to their show a few weeks ago I could tell that the majority of the kids their had heard and seen Panic! on the Radio and MTV. They were not the typical Warped Tour going, 2 steo dancing, emo kids you expect to see at a Panic! at the Disco show. They were all boys in polos with chains and their girlfriends awho were yelling out just how hot Brendan Urie is. One type though, if you don't want people thinking you're hot, don't give out pictures of yourself during intermission at your show. I love the music, always have always will.
Some girls got The Format to play their Sweet Sixteen, Saw it on MTV last night, almost shit myself because I'm honestly jealous. Fuck that man, some weird 16 year olds get them at their party and I get to see them with a few thousand others at Irving Plaza in a month, how is that fair!?
I have yet to listen to the new Gym Class Heroes songs, I should be at that advance listening party tonight, but nope no ID. Lame. I will prolly listen tonight.
However I have listened to the new This Day And Age, and that is orgasmic. I miss those boys <3<3<3
I was walking to drop some mail off today and I got to see what I am 99.9% sure that I witnessed a commercial shoot for the MTV Video Music Awards. August 31st. Good shit. Maybe.
Everyone check out http://www.songsforchoice.com. Good Cause.
This isn't as good as I was thinking it would have been.
More Later.

You Don't ALWAYS have to TwoStep.
LOVE:

1. Caitlin Casey.
2. The Morning Of (as you all know)
3. Making fun of the scene from a distance.
HATE:

1. The kids who find it necissary to "mosh" or 2 step to everything then leave before the quality band.
2. The Morning Of playing last
3. Trains to NJ
(LOVE1) Cait and I went to see out loves- The Morning of (LOVE2) play at CBGB's last night. We walked into THE Scene. Nice to look at. The first band, Always Rushing By, was pretty mello and not alot of people were there yet.
The second band, Pictures In Pieces, were typical. But people started 2 stepping without a single breakdown or scream in sight. WHY?!?!?!?!?!??!(HATE1)
The 3rd band, A Love Like Pi, was a Hellogoodbye wanna be - they couldnt even manage a true moog. Complete with filtered mic this lispy sceneosexual was trying his best at sounding like Forest.
Then we find out that The Morning Of (HATE2) is playing las and Cait has to leave to make her train (HATE2).
The 4th band, Alesana, was screamo. And although I'm not a huge fan atleast there was finally a fucking breakdown for those fucking kids! And they danced and danced and danced. And as soon as they were done the kids left and left and left (HATE1) LLLAAAAMMMEEE!!!!!!! (but I was semi-thankful cause they were annoying as fuck). If only they had better musical taste or would broaden their horizons.
FINALLY THE MORNING OF!!!!!
Of course they were great- sucks I was alone of course. I still made sure I stood in the front. During Pilot To Base, I did the hand thing (naturally- go see them to know what I'm talking about). James (lead) saw me, pointed and said something like "That's Right" Cool-NOT, cause then the girl to the right of me HAD to be my friend:
GIRL: Have I met you yet?
ME: No.
GIRL: I'm Courtney.
ME: (hesitant) I'm Molly.
GIRL: Do you have myspace?
ME: (duuhh who doesn't!?!?!) Yes.
GIRL: Well Molly you're my new friend on myspace I like you.
ME: (uh not if I deny you)
I smile as The Morning Of play another song.
So I'm taking pictures and I take a horrible one and the girl is like "good good."
Ew. Fuck No. So as soon as the show was over I made no eye contact and got the fuck out of there.
I also had to pee like whoa! But we all know you DON'T pee in CBGB's. Ew.
So that's my "Wild n Crazy" Monday Night. Sad. I know.
